Adventure awaits! Welcome to Term 2 After-School Shred Squad JUNIOR Please note: In Term 2 (2025), Shred Squad JUNIOR will run on THURSDAYS from 4-5pm. WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR? Intermediate (for age) MTB riders, aged 7-10 Suitable for riders very comfortable riding easy 'blue' Intermediate trails and starting to ride more technical blue trails MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Minimum age of 7 (or younger with prior approval) - Minimum wheel size of 24-inches - Willing and capable of moderate uphill climbs (ie, Tombstone & Up & At Em) (All previous participants are automatically pre-approved) WHAT THIS PROGRAM IS ABOUT: This 8-week after-school program encourages kids to continue developing their mountain bike skills, to push their boundaries, and to conquer technical obstacles suitable to their ability levels. Please note, there is no jumping in this program. Led by qualified MTB instructors with first-aid certificates and Working with Children Checks, our programs focus on building a solid foundation of skills tailored to each child's age and ability to help them unlock their potential. But Shred Squad is not just about mountain biking - it's about building connections and creating a sense of camaraderie among the kids through teamwork, encouragement, and shared experiences. Things to note: - Due to the end of daylight savings, we are fairly limited with after-school daylight hours, so in term 2, Shred Squad JUNIOR will run for 1 hour from 4-5pm DETAILS Weekly on Thursdays from May 1-June 19 8-week program, term weeks 2-9 4pm-5pm Starts & ends at the Mystic Trailhead $200 per child WHAT TO BRING: - Mountain Bike suitable for offroad riding - AS-approved helmet (no skateboard/equestrian helmets, or similar) - Water (bottle or backpack) - Clothing that offers some protection (ie, no singlet tops) - Optional but encouraged: gloves, knee pads, elbow pads, long sleeves MYSTIC MEMBERSHIPS All riders require a current Mystic Park membership to participate These are free for kids under 15 years and can be purchased here: https://www.elevationmystic.com/pass-options/mountain-pass/ If you have any questions about the suitability of your child for this program, please get in touch via email or phone: bike@ridecraftmtb.com.au
